Tulku: The Art of Transformation

Filmed in High Definition on location in Nepal, October-December 2008.

I divided this 10-minute film into 7 parts that correspond to the 7 chakras and the 7 sutras of the Tulku amulet line.

A longer film is planned for the future. See my movie treatment below.

I'm Down With You

What if an art object had the ability to transform your life? Could a physical object have the power to restructure your vibrational makeup to the extent that you and your life profoundly change? Is this just stuff of imagination from myths and children's fairy tales or can this actually happen in our ordinary world? Can this happen to you?

When an artist becomes a shaman, a priest, a magician, his devotion infuses the object with energy. Each piece contains the energy of its maker and also the energy of the deity or symbol it personifies.

We travel to Kathmandu, Nepal, where Karla Refojo, the creator of Tulku Jewels, works closely with the traditional Newar artists to bring you beautiful sacred amulets. Each amulet is hand-carved in repousse by master artist Rajendra Bajracharya—a 17th generation Buddhist priest; then blessed by a Nepalese holy woman known as Mata. These amulets are imbued with the power inherent in traditions where there is no separation between pure spirituality and the act of creation. Through wearing these amulets, that power supports, inspires, and protects us on our own particular Paths in Life.

In this film, we witness that the ancient tradition of conscious empowerment through art is very much alive.
